A Genetic Counsellor and a Communications Officer have recently been appointed by IMOMA, thus strengthening its mission to provide the best medical services and reinforce its commitment to society in general and especially to the patients.
During the month of January 2018, IMOMA filled two new positions on its organizational chart.
Together with Dr. Rubén Cabanillas (Head of the Area of Precision Medicine), the geneticist Andrea Otero leads the Genetic Counselling Area. Genetic counselling provides patients and family members with information on hereditary illnesses. The aim is to help them to understand the risk of suffering the illness with all of its medical implications, the hereditary form of the disease and provide advice on making decisions about prevention and treatment methods. Andrea Otero completed her Genetics degree in the University of Barcelona, specializing in Genetic Counselling.
The Communications Officer, Pablo Román, leads the communications department, working with the whole IMOMA team in general. Pablo will take care of several tasks, such as promoting interaction in social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and on the web page, coordination with other initiatives, including the commercial development of the Genetic Tests ONCOgenics Tumor, ONCOgenics Germline, OTOgenics and OPHTHALMOgenics and Radiotherapy Services at IMOMA. Pablo Román holds a Phd in Biochemistry from the University of Oviedo and has spent most of his professional career in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
